Frontal Lobe
Q. Why are some adolescents so emotional?
A. Part of the prefrontal lobes is responsible for emotional regulation. However, the prefrontal lobe of an adolescent is not fully developed.
Q. What are of the brain allows you to think about thinking?
A. Located in the front of the brain, and extending back to the top of the head, the frontal lobe has expanded rapidly over the past 20,000 generations. It is what most clearly distinguishes us from our forefathers. Your ability to move parts of your body at will, think about the past, plan for the future, focus your attentions, reflect, make decisions, solve problems, and engage in conversation are all possible because of this highly developed area or your brain. Amazingly enough, these lobes allow you to be consciously aware of all these thoughts and actions.
