Assistive Technology

SKACD’s Assistive Technology (AT) team is responsible for the various devices that assist our students with disabilities to interact with their environment. Many of these devices are electronic in nature (such as equipment to assist with audio/visual needs), yet some equipment is durable medical equipment (such as standers and walkers). AT also includes low-tech devices such as pencil grips and printed multiplication tables.

SKACD’s AT team evaluates the needs of our student population and considers the appropriate AT supports to meet those needs.

The AT team works closely with our Student Health Services team and our Speech-Language Pathology department.

Information on TASN’s Kansas Assistive Technology Guidance for School can be found here.
